MAGNETIC RESONANCE LABORATORY

Magnetic resonance imaging is based on the magnetic properties of the atoms that make up the human body. During the examination, the image of internal organs sections in all planes is presented, providing the physician with precise information on the distribution, size and composition of the examined body tissues.

Ars Medical has two magnetic resonance laboratories. The equipment of the laboratory consists of aparatus provided by Philips: Achieva 1.5T and GYROSCAN T10-NT-PT 3000.

OUR SPECIALISTS:

Jolanta Łusiak M.D.

Agnieszka Świderska-Czerniel M.D.

WHAT DOES THE EXAMINATION LOOK LIKE?

the examination is painless

it lasts from 15 minutes to 90 minutes

the patient lies comfortably, usually on the back

during the examination you can not move

some examinations require that you cannot breathe, as instructed by the staff

after the examination, you can return to your daily activities

EXAMINATION TYPES:

  • magnetic resonance imaging of the neck, larynx, nasopharynx and paranasal sinuses
  • magnetic resonance imaging of the spine
  • magnetic resonance imaging of the osteoarticular system and soft tissues
  • angio-magnetic resonance imaging
  • magnetic resonance imaging of the abdominal cavity organs
  • magnetic resonance imaging of the small pelvis

  • magnetic resonance imaging of the cranial and peripheral nerves
  • magnetic resonance imaging of the eye sockets
  • magnetic resonance imaging of the temporal pyramids (ears)

PREPARATION FOR THE EXAMINATION

During registration for the examination the nurse will inform the patient if he should be fasted on the day of the examination. In case of pregnancy, it is necessary to inform the doctor performing the examination.During the examination you can not carry metal items with you.On the day of registration, please inform a doctor if you have metal implants or dental prostheses. Before the examination, which requires the administration of a contrast agent, the creatinine level and GFR should be determined. Before entering the examination room, remove and leave all metal and electronic items, such as hairpins, watches, glasses, dental prostheses, cards with a magnetic stripe, cell phones, and wash the makeup.
